Chapter 36: Dinner Together

"I bet many suitors tried to court you, right?"

“我相信这些年追你的人不少吧？”

"You''re the prettiest lady on campus during your time as a student. Now that you''re working, I wonder what your colleagues refer to you as. The most stunning lady in the office? The prettiest lady in the department? The most gorgeous lady in the whole company?"

“当你读书的时候，你就校花，工作时，不知你的那些同事是称呼你为什么花？部花？科花？厂花？”

"You, Shut up! What nonsense are you saying?"

“袁素清，你闭嘴吧你！胡说甚么呢?”

"It appears that you''re an aloof flower beyond the reach of us ordinary folks. Ok, ok, please don''t be mad at me. I will be the end of these humor talks and get back on track, old friend. Let''s have a meal together tomorrow! Are you free?"

“看来是一朵高冷花，像我等凡夫俗子不能入你眼呀。好好好，不要生气，趣味截止，回归正题，老同学，明天我们一起吃顿饭吧！有时间吗？”

"You asked on purpose, didn''t you? I''m here purely for fun, so I have plenty of time. I''m just worried that you, being so busy, might not have time!"

“你故意这么问的吧，我现在在这里纯粹是玩，是个实打实的闲人一个，有的是时间，就怕你这个大忙人没时间啦！”

So they set a date for their meal together.

于是他们定了吃饭聚餐的日子。

He arrived early at the Summer Resort to pick up Gu Xiang.

他早早地就来到了避暑山庄来接顾湘。

"Are you ready to go?"

“准备出发了吗？”

"Yes."

“嗯”

"Are you heading out now?"

“那你要出门了吗？”

"Yes." Gu Xiang put on her small backpack, walked out the door, locked it, and turned around to see him smiling at her under the large locust tree in front of her room.

“嗯”顾湘背着自己的小包边走边出门，然后上锁，转身就看到了在门前那颗大槐树下朝着她微笑着的他。

"How did you get here?" Gu Xiang asked in surprise. "And how did you know which room I was staying in?"

“你怎么来了？”顾湘惊讶道。“还有你怎么知道我住这一间房间呢？”

"This is where I was born and raised. I know every corner of this place. Since I knew you were staying here, it wasn''t difficult to find you."

“这里可是生我养我的地方，我熟悉这里的每一个角落，都已经知道你在这里住了，在这里找到你不是很容易的一件事情吗？”

"You must have asked Sister Ling."

“你怕是向玲
